Artemis Fowl By: Eoin Colfer

Image from www.amazon.com
This one has action with science fiction and fantasy all rolled into one. The book is called Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer. (Finally! A book without romance in it.)

It’s about the twelve year-old millionaire, who is an over-all genius and a criminal mastermind. But he doesn’t know what he’s getting into when he captures a fairy, Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon Unit. Artemis is now entangled with things and creatures that shouldn’t even exist. But will there finally
be someone who can catch or defeat the great Artemis Fowl? Will he be pushed to his limit?

This book is a series of eight books. The next one is called The Arctic Incident.

What I liked about this book is that it kind of gives you the insight of how a criminal mastermind thinks.

What I didn’t like about this book is that everything kind of went very quickly throughout the book. I still loved it though!

I give this book this book 5 out of 5 stars.starrating_bigimg.jpg

Land of No Angels By: N. R. Wick

Image from www.amazon.com
Romance, action, and fantasy all collide in Land of No Angels by N. R. Wick. This is an absolutely amazing book.

Rebecca Ashford and her sister Errol have spent the last year of their lives hidden in the family’s tornado bunker. But on one night, the sound of a baby screaming cracks through the silence and Errol tries to save it, only to be poisoned by a demon. Rebecca now has to trust the mysterious survivor named Fox to help her find a cure. Along the way, she and Fox encounter demons and monsters, all the while Rebecca struggles with the magic that is supposed to assist them to locate the ingredients to cure her sister. Will Rebecca and Fox Make it in time to save her sister?

This is apart of a trilogy. The second book is called Land of No Mortals.

I liked how Errol saw the good in things even after she had been poisoned and pretty much was slowly dying.

I kind of wished this book had showed what Fox was thinking sometimes.

I give this book a 4 star rating.4-stars-2.jpg

UnInvited By: Sophie Jordan

Image from www.sophiejordan.net
UnInvited by Sophie Jordan is the next book I am recommending. This book is filled with suspense and action with a little bit of science fiction.

Davy has everything every teenage girl could wish for. An amazing boyfriend, a good future with Juilliard, and the homecoming crown, but all of that comes crashing down when her genetics test comes back positive for the Homicidal Tendency Syndrome. All of her friends and family avoids her, she is put in a special class with other people like her who are basically treated like the murderers they may become. Then she meets Sean who is also a “carrier”. He understands what she feels and tells her that only she controls her actions. Will Davy ever be able to trust herself again?

I liked the way that Sean was sarcastic so the book wouldn’t seem sinister or sad. This book has a sequel which is called UnLeashed.

What I didn’t like was the way her parents were not able to do more to keep her there instead of being shipped off to who-knows-where.

I give this book a 4.5 star rating. 45-out-of-51.jpgimgarcade.com

An Unfortunate Fairy Tale: UnEnchanted By: Chanda Hahn

Image from Amazon.com
The book I will be recommending is An Unfortunate Fairy Tale: UnEnchanted by Chanda Hahn. This has action, fantasy and, as always, romance.

Mina Grime was always the most clumsy girl ever known, everywhere she would go something bad would happen, she has always been unpopular at her school. Until she saves the popular and rich Brody Carmichael from falling off a catwalk. Who is also her crush. From then on she is known as the hero of her high school. But because of this an old family curse is revealed. Mina is a descendant of the Brother Grimm and she is left with the unfinished fairy tale business. Which means defeating a Story. Mina is on a mission to conquer these fairy tales to break the curse on her family.

This book is in a series of five. The next book is called Fairest.

I really liked how the author integrated many different fairy tales into one book and that’s what made it fun to read it.

I didn’t like how the book had just kind of forgotten her mother when she told Mina about the curse.

I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.11907561.gif

Adventures in Funeral Crashing By: Milda Harris

This book is called Adventures in Funeral Crashing: Funeral Crashing Mysteries #1 by: Milda Harris. Obviously it’s a mystery but it does have some romance in it.

Image from www.amazon.com
Kait Lenox is known as the weird girl in the school. Her ex-best friend turned into a mean popular girl and basically told people that she likes to go funeral crashing. What makes it worse is that it’s true. At one of her funeral crashes, she happens to go to the one that Ethan Ripley is attending. He is the most popular guy in school, but instead of embarrassing Kait in front of everyone, he asks for her help. Kait is now caught up in a murder mystery, but the most important thing running through her head is that Ethan actually knows her name! Will they find out who the murderer is? How will Ethan and Kait turn out? Will Kait’s sort-of-stalkerish fantasies about Ethan finally come true?

This is a series of two other books.

What I liked about this book is that the author detailed her emotions really well, it helped you connect to how you would usually feel in those situations.

There is not much that I don’t like about this book.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.starrating_bigimg.jpg

Divergent By; Veronica Roth

The book I will be reviewing is Divergent By: Veronica Roth. This book has romance and action throughout the book.

Image from divergent.wikia.com
In this dystopian society, everyone is divided into factions. Tris Prior has decided to go to Dauntless, and there she meets Four. The handsome and mysterious guy who seems to hate her for some unknown reason. While in this faction, Tris learns certain things about herself that could be very deadly for her if anyone found out. Right now, Four is the one who can and will actually help. Without any other choices Tris must trust Four.

This is a series of three books. The next book is Insurgent and then Allegiant.

Something that I liked about this book is that it gave a lot of description about the setting, so that it’s easier to picture what the author is trying to describe.

Something I didn’t like about this book was that it was a little boring. In the beginning and the end it was okay, but in the middle there was not a lot going on and that just made it seem a little boring to me.

I give this 3 out of 5 starsUntitled image.jpg
